We had a very positive afternoon at the Tameside Literacy Awards today.

West Hill English Department won the award for

  • having made the most progress in English across the Authority
  • outstanding outcomes for boys in English across the Authority
  • most improved English outcomes in 2015 across the Authority

Mrs Parkes achieved second place in the Tall Teacher Awards. 

We entered five KS3 and five KS4 pupils for the writing competition

At KS3

Jake Barnes, Jack Brierley and Abu Hamzah Chowdhury were highly commended for their entries

At KS4

All five entrants were recognised; Brandon Grimbaldeston, Hamaas Hassan, Karol Wijacinski, and Matthew Smith were highly commended for their entries

 Cian Patel  achieved second place in the writing competition

 A fabulous performance all round! I am sure you will want to pass your congratulations to all staff and pupils involved.
