Each week, the maths department shares a puzzle that boys can attempt to test their problem solving skills. These may be number mysteries, shape brainteasers or worded challenges designed to get boys thinking about maths in different ways to what they are used to. Every boy who enters gets achievement points, with one correct entrant each week being drawn at random to win a prize from the department.

Here are some examples from previous years for you to try, with the answers at the bottom.

Puzzle 1

Puzzle 2

Puzzle 3

(Answers: Puzzle 1 = 61, Puzzle 2 = 7, Puzzle 3 = 24 minutes)
