Arrangements for start of spring term 2021
30 December 2020
I am sure you will have been following the various Government’s announcements since we broke up at the end of last term, on how, or even when schools would be reopening in January. There is no need for me to comment further on this, as the uncertainties and frustrations generated are shared by us all.
In order to bring some clarity and enable families to plan ahead, the arrangements for West Hill are as follows;
Monday January 4th will be an INSET day for staff only to attend school.
Tuesday January 5th school will be open for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children only as detailed in the Government guidance - Critical workers and vulnerable children who can access schools or educational settings - GOV.UK
All other boys will follow their regular timetable by accessing the VLE from home as has been demonstrated by their regular subject teacher. https://www.westhillschool.co.uk/parents/covid-19-coronavirus/home-learning
In order to allow us to plan for any on site provision required, we ask that those families who are key workers and need to book a place, to complete this form https://www.westhillschool.co.uk/parents/covid-19-coronavirus/key-worker-registration-form and return to email@example.com by 9 am on Monday 4th. Our safeguarding team will be contacting our vulnerable families on Monday January 4th to support them.
In regards the announcement about schools carrying out testing on pupils and staff; at this time there are still many questions to be answered on this matter, and we will update when more clarity is established.
It is highly likely that these arrangements will be adjusted even more in the coming days, and we will update as and when it is appropriate. I would much prefer to be able to be more certain about these plans, but in the meantime I thank you all for your continued patience and support.
