In conjunction with the Hoteliers Charter, West Hill School have been twinned with The Clayton Hotel at Manchester Airport.

Yesterday, Thursday 16th June fourteen Year 10 students visited the hotel to gain an insight into the Hotel industry.

The visit was organised by Miss Mason and Liz Gilleard (@claytonhotelmcr), the Hotels HR Manager.

The day consisted of a tour of the Hotel facilities, A brand logo design competition, A Q & A session with the Hotel General Manager and 4 Heads of departments, including Sales and Marketing, Food and Beverage, Revenue Manager and Operations.

The students got to carry out some hands-on food preparation with Executive Chef Andy.

The students also took part in a team building exercise, the winning team can be seen below.

A huge thank you to all the staff at #The Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport, who gave us a very warm welcome and kindly kept the pupils very well fed and watered throughout the day.

The visit has provided a detailed insight into the Hotel Industry. We have 3 Students who are very much looking forward to completing their 2-week work experience placement at The Clayton Hotel.

The pupils were a credit to the school. They asked a wide variety of very insightful questions and were commended on their excellent attitudes and behaviour throughout the day.

Thank you to Mrs Hobson who kindly accompanied the pupils.
