The Learning Support Unit (LSU) is managed by the LSU Manager.  Students of all year groups may work in the LSU temporarily for an assortment of reasons; including learning, emotional and medical needs. Students may have 1:1 or small group intervention sessions in the LSU. Students may also undertake short term withdrawal from lessons if they need support in one particular subject area to catch up or if they have the need to concentrate on a specific area of their curriculum.

With exception to those students attending outside/alternative provisions, all students are encouraged to learn in the mainstream classroom environment with in-class Learning Support Assistant (LSA) support if needed. The Learning Support Unit alongside the Emotional Support Unit (ESU) play an integral part in ensuring that West Hill is an inclusive school for all learners.
