Duke of Edinburgh Training Weekend

Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Training in Action

43 Year 9 students took part in a training day for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's award last weekend. They undertook sessions in route planning, first aid, tent building and cooking, before putting their navigation skills to the test in a hike up to Hartshead Pike.

13 Silver Duke of Edinburgh boys were also taking part in further training.

The boys were a real credit to the school, displaying not only the school's 3Rs, but also the Countryside Code too. Hopefully, they are trained and motivated for the upcoming qualifying expedition in June.
