Headteacher's Recognition Reward Top achievement point earners , standout Year 6 helpers , and none other than the Junior NBA NorthWest Basketball Champions were all gathered in Ms Cronin's office today for a chat, a cookie, and a big pat on the back! Well done to each and every one of our superstars! A special mention goes to our basketball players who have put in so much work to train outside of school individually, as well as in school with limited time and resources, to create a winning West Hill team!

A huge shout out to all of our canteen staff who, despite the sweltering temperatures in the kitchens this week, have kept our boys well-fed On another note, tomorrow is National Picky Bits Day, so come along to our Car Boot Sale and pick up some bits! It won't be just any Car Boot Sale though... it'll be a West Hill School Car Boot Sale. 10am-2pm

We're Junior NBA North-West Basketball Champions!! After finishing second in the West Conference, our boys battled it out against the winners, Wirral, to win the league with a 32-22 scoreline. This then set them up to play against the winners of the East Conference - Reddish Vale . Huge congratulations to our basketball players for their impressive 50-29 victory in the final to be named Jnr NBA North-West Basketball Champions! Nothing to do this Saturday morning before the football? Come and be a part of your local community! How, you say? By having a go at the local Stamford Park parkrun and then visiting our Car Boot Sale, of course! Invest in your health, then grab a bargain, a (well-deserved) ice-cream or snack, and have fun playing our games - or just come along to our Car Boot and show us your support. We are really excited to welcome our class of 2031 and their families to our school next week: Wednesday 1st July - parents only evening 6.00-7.30pm. Keep a look out for an email to inform you of your son's form group and meet time. Thursday 2nd July - students in school to meet their teachers and peers. Day will begin 8.40am and end at 2.35pm. Due to the hot weather, we open as usual every day this week but have planned early-afternoon school closures for later this week: Thursday 25th June 2026 - earlier closure. Friday 26th June 2026 - earlier closure. Please see your emails and the WHS app for more details, including exact timings. School will be open as usual on Monday 29th June 2026. Please stay safe. Apply suncream, drink plenty of water and stay well away from open waters. Don't be tempted to get in the cold waters, they present a real danger to life
