Year 9 Careers Talk

Students gained an insight into the regeneration of Stalybridge Town Centre.

As part of National Careers Week, Year 9 students had a careers talk and design workshop from the team working on the regeneration of Stalybridge Town Centre.

Thanks to Jess and Emma from LDA Design, students learnt about the role of a Landscape Architect and routes into the profession. Students discovered careers pathways linked to Geography, Biology, Art and Design Technology.

In the workshop that followed, students saw landscape architecture in practice, in the Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council's plans for the redevelopment of Stalybridge Town centre. Students were invited to design an area of our town centre. Maybe we will see some of their ideas used in the future?
