Curriculum Information
Qualifications
The examination board is Edexcel and students complete three separate papers. These are linear examinations that include a thematic study and an investigation into historic environment (Medicine and the British sector of the Western front). Also, a period study and British depth study (Cold War and Elizabethan England), and finally a modern depth study (Germany 1919-39).
The skills acquired during study cover historical knowledge and understanding. This develops the ability to analyse, interpret, evaluate and make substantial judgements about historical events and periods. Students have the opportunity to study, in-depth, key individuals and events that have helped shape Britain and the complexities of other societies in the world.
